4The wait is over
By Joe Barbour
Uses: Music, movies, and gamesSystems: PC and PS3Pros:-Great sound quality that can be cranked up loud. These headphones drown out the crazy neighbor lady yelling about her lazy, mooching husband.-Comfortable through 3+ hours of use.-Included software provides plenty of sound and voice customization.Cons:-Sound leaks out of the headphones. Your wife is going to hear the muffled sounds of fragging coming from the headset.-Only one system can be hooked up to the Recon 3D at the same time.-Very small delay on audio.Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega Wireless Gaming HeadsetI first tried this headset out at E3 and I was impressed with how well they drowned out the sound of the convention floor, allowing me to hear their demo game loud and clear. The sound quality is great, unlike the other headsets I tried out at E3 (Sorry Turtle Beach, don't set up a demo with headphones that cackle and break at every loud noise). The power, volume, and mute mic buttons are all located on the left earphone of the headset. They're fairly simple to press, though you have to be careful which button you're pressing. The wireless headphones are crystal clear up to 15 feet away, but starts to cut out past that. If you're close enough to watch TV/play games, then you're close enough to use the headphones. The microphone cancels out noise that is being sent by the system, so when explosions are going off in the game while you're talking, your voice is the only thing picked up by the mic. There's a very small delay on the audio (1/4 of a second maybe), due to the wireless connection, which can noticed if watching for it, but movies can still be watched without being distracted by it. Charging the headset is easy, you just plug in the Micro-USB cable, and the headset can still be used while charging.Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D THX USB External Sound Enhancer for PC, PS3, XBOX 360 and Mac - SB1300The Recon 3D connects to the Xbox 360 and PS3 through the included Optical and Micro-USB cables. The PC just requires the micro-USB cable. The guide tells you where the audio settings for the consoles are, and what you need to turn on, but a little more tweaking may be needed depending on how your system is currently configured. Using the included software, you can change the audio settings on your PC and save it to a profile, then export it to the Recon 3D and use it with your consoles. I haven't done extensive testing to see how much better the Recon 3D improves audio compared to not using it, and songs playing from WinAMP didn't seem to have much of a difference, but I did notice that playing songs off YouTube sounded better.Tips:-If you get this bundle to use with multiple devices, keep the Micro-USB cords plugged into the systems and just swap which one is plugged into the Recon 3D.-Don't use "Dialog Plus" when listening to music. The option is to allow you to hear dialog in movies clearer, but I've found it causes some fade in/out issues with music.-When using the headset volume controls, feel for the beveled arrows. The power button is flat and glossy.-The power button requires you to press and hold for several seconds. The mute mic and volume buttons are single-press; holding those buttons won't do anything.-Set your PS3's audio input to the Recon 3D. Set the multi-input audio option to off when you want to use the headset and switch it on whenever you want the sound sent to your TV/Speakers.

4A high quality wireless gaming headset, but a few caveats
By Media Man
As a DJ and avid gamer I'm always in the market for new and decent quality headphones. I've had so many over the years I've lost track as to the actual number. There always seems to be something new for PC, gaming consoles and DJing. As I always enjoy testing out new headphones here are my thoughts on the Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3D and Omega Wireless Headset Bundle;Pros+ Superb THX/Dolby/Scout sound and noise isolation. The bass is warm and rich, better than the majority of headphones I've owned.+ Set-up was easy for my PC and PS3.+ Respectable wireless range depending on construction of your home/apartment. I live in a three level home and the signal was crystal clear on the second floor with the pc in the basement den.+ Charges quickly and yielded an 8 hour battery life.+ Sits comfortably on your head (comes with a con see below)+ Detachable microphone.+ Headset controls convenient, easy to use and include mic mute, volume and on/off buttons.+ Soft blue lighting on the side of the headset look neat (very Tron-esque) even if it's just cosmetic.+ Can use the headset while it's charging.+ Large ear cups swivel flat.+ Multi-platform use.+ Solid construction.+ Wireless.Cons- Only the included headphones can be paired with Recon 3D currently. I tried two other pairs of Creative Sound Blaster Headsets I own and was unable to pair them with the device.- Charging cable is too short. I have to use a USB extension cord.- No Charging station/Stand.- Earphones are faux leather and don't breathe well resulting in quite a bit of heat and sweat around our ears. Also, if you're a glasses wearer (like me) the headphones can really cause your cause your frames to dig into the side of your head. Rather painful. Unfortunately, this is very common with most over the ear headphones.- Software included with the headset seems more like a gimmick rather than anything useful.- Encountered a few echo and feedback issues while playing some multiplayer PC games.- No case or cover.- Pricey. At the $250 range, the Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3D and Omega Wireless Headset Bundle are quite good, especially if you're a big PC/console gamer. Essentially this headset is identical to the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset. Thus, you're paying an extra $75-$100 for the Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D THX USB External Sound Enhancer for PC, PS3, XBOX 360 and Mac - SB1300. With the higher purchase price I'd still be somewhat wary about purchasing this headset if any of the Cons I listed concern you. Of course, not all of these things will be cons for everyone. Therefore, in the end it's all a matter of personal preference. Despite these Cons it's a very functional and quality headset all around.

5Great combo package - Gaming
By vibe-Kraag
After receiving the headset, the first thing I did was try it out on my pc because it had to charge a minimum of 5 hours. The computer easily detected the Recon3D and headset, I proceeded with the installation of the Recon3D software. Everything went fine, easy to install, until I came to my first bug... My friends told me that I was causing an echo on teamspeak. I went further in the problem and tried to discover the cause. Ah, there it is, the installation of my soundblaster Arena and X-fi card conflicted with the Recon control panel. I could not adjust the Recon settings at all, had to turn of the creative console launcher first. After that, everything went fine, no more echo on teamspeak. The next thing I tried was plugging in the headset and soundcard to my ps3. I run the ps3 to my pionner elite sc-27 by hdmi, and then to the Pt-AE4000 for the image. of course, my other headsets I would plug straight in the home cinema front earphone plug to get a nice 7.1 surround sound. How to plug the Recon now... Well I tried both ways, with the provided optical, bypassing the SC-27, and through the earphone jack of the sc-27. I am glad to say, that I had better control of sound through the sc-27, but at the same volume, both sounded excellent. I loved the bass coming from the headset. It is very confortable. In games, the scout mode is a must, sorry can't sneak up on me unless your dead silent now...With 3 possible modes, THX, Scout, or both off, depending on the setup, this headset is a must, I can definately say bye bye Turtle Beach, sorry to have met, happy to part. The only problem I have, and I had wished Creative would have given it to us, is a possibility to charge without using the ps3 or a computer. A 110V plug with USB connection or even the stand from the original package would have been great, and a 25 foot USB cable for when we are out of juice, other then that, this is the best by far headset I have tried.

3Decent for its price but I'd stick to name brands
By C. Spivey
I purchased the Frisby surround sound because it was cheap and it advertised True surround sound. I mainly bought it for my xbox 360. When it arrived the first problem was the display cover had already fallen off. it was easily fixable. You will definatly have to buy extenstion cords for the speakers because they are extremely short as if they were made to be set up in a small bathroom. Everything is done by remote, it has individual speaker output levels, treble and bass control. Next problem is that if the remote dies or is broken you are SOL because that is the only way to switch between outputs and volumes on the speakers. Also either the sensor on the remote or the reciever is very weak because it is frequently unreceptive.Next, I hooked the system up to my xbox 360 using the Optical out connection, when my xbox was on stereo it worked wonderfully the sound is great for such a cheap system. However when I switched the sound to be Dolby Digital the volume completely went to garbage and only the 2 speakers on the front worked and it sounded like an AM radio at that point. Im not sure if it was a defect or not but by that point I doubted it. So i decided to connect my sound via the AUX1 input. Now things were working. Dolby Digital was doing its job and everything sounded as it should. I tested it on a few games and the surround effect was working. The system sounds great on music too. It can be loud too, though i doubt its 3000w. Its a good sounding system when it works but, you get what you pay for i guess. Even then I'd opt for something else. Despite its great sound when it works there are too many flaws. I gave it 3 stars because for its price (Which i paid 150 all together) this system is ok any more expensive and i'd call it a rip off. I will pass on Frisby products next time around and stick to the names brands I know.

5Great speaker
By G. Ma
Great speaker set for the budget. Easy to set up, clear sound, and powerful bass and subwoofer. The remote has many control buttons and tuning individual speakers is simple. I connect my PC, TV, and PS to this speaker system and the surrounding effects are amazing. One minor thing is that the cable for rear speakers is a little bit short and I bought a RCA extension cable to place those rear speakers behind my sofa.

1What a joke
By JooeCool
I purchased these speakers mainly cause they had an optical and coaxial connections since my blu-ray player had those connections on the back of the player. I unpacked them and got them all setup. Went to plug in the power only to find out there were some crackling/popping noises coming out of the center channel speaker.I am thinking to myself now that's not normal.. I went to play one of my blu-ray movies. Everything seemed to be working all right didn't hear any crackling/popping noises during the playback of my DVD movie, as far as the sound goes it was decent. I heard better. But for the price of these speakers the sound was average. About a hour into my movie (Avatar)all of a sudden the sound went mute. No sound no nothing. The power just went dead. No lights on the subwoofer no nothing. just the crackling/popping noise coming out of the center channel speaker. I checked my power connections went to turn the switch off and back on and still nothing. I accidentally bumped the subwoofer with my arm and guess what? The power to the subwoofer came back on. Now what does that tell you... I am thinking i got a bad unit. But sent them back for a refund. Didn't want to take any chance on maybe getting another defective unit. If anyone out there knows any 5.1 surround sound speakers with optical or coaxial connection for a budget price would appreciate any input. Just wanted to share my experience with this product.

5Pyle PLMCA90 1200 Watts 4 Speaker Motocycle Stereo System
By Michael
The PLMCA90 1200 Watts Amp and 4 Speaker system is my third Pyle motocycle stereo purchase. For the price you can't beat this excellent 4 speaker system. I Have all 4 speakers mounted to the handelbars and at 65 mph (I Have a Windshield) the sound is crisp and clear. The USB charger is a plus and charges my Ipod Nano with no problems. Installation is streight forward taking about 2 to 3 hours. Everything you need is included. I do recommend using in-line fuses and heat shrink wrapping your connections especially the Male/Female connection between the amp and speakers for extra protection against the elements. I've installed an older Pyle 2 speaker system on my friends bike 2 years ago. After seeing and hearing my new system it looks like I'll be installing another Pyle PLMCA90 4 Speaker system on his bike too. Keep up the good work making Affordable/Quality products.

Bought the Pyle system after reading several reviews on a lot of system. Loved the cost for the quality of product. It's loud enough to hear over the custom loud pipes and the sound is very clear. Fairly easy to install, big PLUS! Very happy with this purchase!

1Do not buy this product
By Android
After flashing the firmware with an update from Iomega's own website, and following their instructions exactly, it bricked the device, and now it's completely useless. Iomega refuse to replace the device, even though it was their own update that broke it. I will never buy another Iomega product again, and hope to spare anybody else the same experience.

1Useless
By SloHe
I bought this EZ 3 weeks ago since it was supposed to be simple and easy to set up.It is NOT!I spend several nights to get it to work on my MAC and failed. After a number of factory resets of the EZ and messed up permission rights on my MAC, I contacted the Iomega technical support via the forum. But they only advised to contact their telephone support ($25 per call).I tried to solve the issue via the ONE to ONE chat but they could not help me either. After about one hour they advised to contact their telephone support ($25 per call!).I decided to give up and use it just as an external HD, but every attempt to copy something with subfolders ends in an error. On a positive note: I got the cloud function to work and when eventually (IF) I find a way to store something onto the device I will have access to it via internet.Iomega advised that I cannot return it....!

1Completely unsatisfactory. Deceptively marketed to Linux users.
By Brad Alpert
I'll be quick. The device is marketed as compatible with Linux clients. It isn't. Itwon't work. The only two network protocols available are CIFS (Windows File Sharing) andrsync. And rsync doesn't work. Once you finally get the 32-bit storage manager programinstalled (tough to do on a 64-bit machine (x86_64) like mine), you will learn that thereis no way to transfer files from your Linux machine to the NAS device. Here's the email received from IOMega technical support department following my telephonecall:"Thank you for using Iomega's Online Support Services. I sincerely apologize for anyinconvenience you may have experienced using your Iomega product. Thanks for sending the dump file. I spoke to one of our advanced support group about theproblems you are having and he confirmed that the EZ Media is really not the right tool (noNFS and an extremely limited rsync.) Check out the new IX2 (or for that matter one of theearlier ix series devices.) They all have NFS and full rsync capabilities."There you have it. They sold me a device advertised as supporting Linux and acknowledged, after purchase, that it doesn't - but that the fix is to buy another device costing nearlytwice as much.Chance are thin that we'll be purchasing any more IOmega products.

5A rumble-pack for your chair!
By R. S. Myers
I was a bit skeptical about this product even after reading the numerous positive reviews, but after a few hours of gameplay, I am a very happy customer. I really didn't understand how this product relayed the vibration, but after attaching it securely to an underside bar on my Playseat, it works perfectly by transferring vibrations throughout the entire seat. I am now encompassed by low-end rumble every time a certain amount of bass is detected by the unit. Probably the best effect so far is the awesome feel of firing a shotgun in a game... BOOM! The only drawback to the system is the amplifier/control unit itself, which is much larger than I expected. Don't let the out-of-scale pictures fool you, it's roughly the size of an Xbox.

4Great for drummers!
By Brian Mohrman
I wanted to write this review for those drummers out there who want a little extra "kick" in their bass drum. I use a nice monitor when our band plays out but still don't get that deep "thump" from my bass drum to help keep me in the pocket. I just received the buttkicker today and hooked it up to my computer just to feel the bass from my cd's. It really works. I was quite surprised at the power this thing puts out. I then hooked it up to my Roland digital drums I practice on. I have a direct out for my bass drum pad which I plugged into the Buttkicker. My throne was a rockin'. This really gave me that deep thump I was looking for. Kudos to the Guitammer company. I haven't yet hooked this up to our band's P.A. system and used it with my real drums but I'm planning on doing the same thing - taking a direct out from my bass drum channel (on our mixer) and plugging it into the Buttkicker amp. Hopefully everything will work out well. If I encounter any problems I'll write another review to explain. I wasn't able to find any reviews for drummers who have used this product so I wanted to write one myself to help my fellow drummers out.

5ButtKicker Kicks Up Gaming!
By redvette
It attaches to the post of the chair and reacts to the bass response from the game. Works very well with headphones (you can't feel the bass in headphones) Very good for first person shooters and sports games. Music with iPod is very enjoyable. Build quality is much better than most "gaming" electronics.

5Good little projector
By gowingnut
I recently purchased this projector as a replacement for my near-vintage Sharp XV101TU, whose bulb decided to blow out on me. In the process of shopping for a replacement projector (or trying to decide whether to just replace the bulb - nothing but love for my 25 lbs projector from the early 90's..) the Optoma PT100 caught my eye.I admit my main draw to this projector was the price - which was less than a mere bulb for your average projector - and the fact that THIS bulb would never need to be replaced, as it was powered by LEDs. I dove headlong into purchasing the projector knowing full well LEDs couldn't replace the luminescence of a metal-halide bulb, but the lure of never having to shell out $300 every year or two couldn't be denied, and I was willing to take a chance on the 50(!!) lumen output. Now here, we get to one of the main points I uncovered from doing projector research: ALWAYS be extremely wary of no-name projectors. You probably already knew that, but pay particular attention to the "brightness" department. Many list their brightness as 400lm, or sometimes even 1000+ lumens, or worse yet, not at all. This isn't very scientific, to be sure, but if in doubt, try and see if you can find a Youtube video or the like demonstrating the projector. After seeing various nameless LED Chinese projectors on Youtube and comparing them to legit 1000 lumen projectors, it seems pretty obvious their brightness stats are a little inflated (not to mention, if the typical Samsung or LG LED projector projects at 200lm... you gotta wonder). I say this because I noticed that with a 50 lumen output, this projector really seems to be a lame duck when considering no-name eBay projectors have an alleged 1200 lumens for the same price. But I can assure you, no-name projectors almost never live up to their descriptions, so do your homework! Better go with a lower lumen projector from a reputable manufacturer than a knock-off claiming a million lumens, in my opinion. That said, 50 lumens is no sunbeam of light, but I currently have it set about 14 feet away and for watching a movie at night, the 80+ inch image is awesome. Of course, you do want to be conscious of what you will typically be using the projector for before you purchase. Yes, the ability to be satisfied with a given brightness is subjective, but only to a point. If your primary purpose for getting a projector is watching Dark Knight over and over again, 50 lm will inarguably be a little dark for your needs (pun intended) - most LED projectors probably will be. For your average movie or Wii game, however, this projector performs brilliantly. Keep in mind though, nighttime use - or with a good set of blackout curtains. If you're looking at daytime gaming... again, add blackout curtains to your financial calculations (or start moving your gaming chairs to the basement). On the positive side, the projector is extremely portable, so if you have a room that's naturally darker than others, it's easy to move.A note about screen size: like many inexpensive projectors, there is a fixed throw ratio - in other words, for you camera savvy folk, no zoom lens - the screen size is in direct proportion to how far the projector is placed from the screen/wall.Many of you probably have concerns about the resolution - I certainly did. Yes, 480 is pretty old-school tech, no getting around that - the projector IS $199. Keep in mind though, that it is 480p (all LCDs, DLPs, and Plasmas, to my knowledge, are progressive scan), so it's a squeak better than standard definition (I believe it's formally called "enhanced definition"). Additionally, to offset what many might consider to be low res for today's standards, the projector's native resolution is 854x480 pixels, which amounts to widescreen plus (a native DVD film resolution is 720x480, widescreen format is 704x480, and 4:3 format is 640x480). What this means, at the end of the day, is that if you watch a widescreen DVD, the image doesn't have to be shrunk down to fit or cropped, like it might otherwise have to be on a projector with a native 4:3 aspect ratio (i.e. 640x480). Also with regard to image quality, 3LED DLP is known to have nice vivid color and as far as I'm concerned, it does.Unfortunately, there is no remote for this thing - all adjustments are made with buttons on the body itself.Speaking of body, the build quality is excellent considering the price tag - nice solid plastic housing; a possibly random aside: when I first took it out of the box, I thought it very much resembled the look and feel of a typical wall-powered radio alarm clock, both in size and weight (and color). It is a bit lighter than one would expect from a projector, even one of this size. Is it as tank-like as my old Sharp? Definitely not, but no modern projector really is. Will it stand up to a fair amount of abuse from an average child? I imagine so.Adjustments in height are made easy with an odd spring-loaded front leg that pops out with the push of a button on the side, and one of the rear legs can be adjusted to level the image. Keep in mind, there is no keystone, so set it in a good spot where you won't have to tilt it too much.A little annoyance on this projector is the lack of connections. While on the one hand, it keeps the projector simple, as I'm sure was the intention, it also means you need additional cables if you want something better than the yellow-plug composite video. Granted, it's a fairly easy and inexpensive endeavor to acquire a component > 15-pin RGB cable (or s-video > 15-pin if you like), but it would have been helpful had they included a little adapter dongle or something of the sort.Bottom line, if you know what you're getting, this projector will not disappoint. Don't be discouraged by the name "PlayTime" - it is actually a very capable little machine. If you go in expecting it to be one of those you've seen in your giant lecture halls or rich friend's home theatre, your expectations will probably be let down. If, on the other hand, you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to a humongous screen TV that uses less power and is much more portable, this is an excellent projector.

3Okay Projector
By Kenny
Summary:I liked this projector for playing games and watching movies in a very dark room with an image size of about 40 inches. There's a bit of lag on the refresh, but games that don't have a lot of full-screen quick motion should play just fine. This will also do a rear-projection setup too! It has a very low power requirement, about 1.5 watt @ 120VAC (mine worked at 78VAC for hours, no problems!)and it's pretty quiet. Not very good for use as a presentation projector. Better overall, than I though it would be. Could replace a tv that's smaller than 25 inches. It would also be an okay display solution for someone deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.Features that I liked:You can switch between inputs without unplugging anything. There's an option to flip the image horizontally (for rear projection) and vertically (for upside down mounting). It's pretty quiet and only draws ~1.5 watts at 120 volts. Indecently, the power in my building was regularly dropping down to about 78 volts AC for hours at a time and it still worked just fine. The power supply is very small, just a bit bigger than a small Snickers bar. There's an option for wide or standard screen mode.Features that I felt were useless, or gave false hope:There's a brightness adjustment that really only changes the color temp. They're not labeled warm, cool and other, but that's what they really are. The manual focus is easy to adjust. I have better than 20/20 vision uncorrected and I found that the upper left corner was never in focus with the rest of the screen, annoying. When using it with my little HP mini 210 the colors were always over saturated, the brightness options didn't help.Short falls (cons):This projector isn't bright by any means (when projecting onto a thick white cotton sheet), unless you'r projecting a 25 inch or smaller image you're going to need a darkened room. Anything over 40 inches and your room needs to be almost completely black. At that size though the standard definition image shows individual pixels.Strengths (pros):It's a pretty quiet projector that draws very little power, you might even be able to hook this up to a portable power supply. The manual focus ring is easy to use and get the image focused for your eyes. The front foot adjusts hight easily. All of the connections are made at the rear of the unit. It's smaller than I thought it was going to be, and lighter.Included hardware/cables:Mine came with a 3ft (not sure, I never unraveled it) male to male RCA video and stereo cable. A ~1.5 watt (at 120 VAC) power adapter. And instructions. There was no VGA cable or any other cables included. My impressions on using it:I had mine set up to make about a 40 inch image onto a thick white sheet.I used it with my Nintendo Wii in widescreen mode and standard definition. The first game I played was Link's Crossbow Trainer, it worked very well. Although I felt that there was a very slight lag in the video it worked well for that game. I managed to get platinum ranking on every level in the first few days of playing it. That game requires quick responses and there's moderate speed to most of the on-screen motion. The second game I played was Red Steel 2. It was very difficult to play this game. On easy I wasn't kicking butt like I was on my tv. There was a loss of detail and the quick motion in this game blurred very badly. Games that have lots of full screen motion will be made harder by this projector's slow refresh rate.I also used this with my HP Mini 210 netbook. The experience here was worse but better too. This is when I found that no matter how I adjusted the focus the upper left corner was never going to be sharp with the rest of the screen. The colors were also over saturated, no matter what brightness mode I used. I could also make out all of the pixels, in the areas that were focused. It did, however, work very well for playing videos in full screen mode. I just had to adjust Windows Media Player's colors to make it look more lifelike. I forgot we were watching movies on a projector with a sheet. It was completely dark in the room though. After nearly a year of ownership:I've used it to play Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Wii Sports. It's okay for LoZ, but works great for Wii Sports and other very cartoon-like games. I wouldn't expect it to work well playing my Xbox 360 games, especially any of the Halo series or Forza. It has a few focus issues though. I can never get the whole picture to focus and it needs to be adjusted once it warms up (or you turn it back on after it cools). I've been using it in Afghanistan this past year. My roommates and I watch AFN on it in several times a day.

5Well done Optoma!
By Aerospace MGR
PT100 PlayTime Projector - lightweight funI highly recommend the PT100 LED projector as an extremely portable supplementaldisplay for kids and the family. The PlayTime projector has an extremely straight forward design - a couple video inputs, front drop down foot for adjusting the projection angle, screw down rear foot for levelingthe image, focus ring and control panel buttons. The control panel includes seven buttons - power, volume +/-, source, menu, and left/right arrows for scrolling through the menu. The menu features adjustments for aspectratio, brightness, language preference, source selection and image orientation. This less than 2 pound projector can be connected to a variety of AV sources through thecomposite video input, to computers using the VGA input and to audio using RCA jacks.Included in the carton is the projector, a power cable, RCA cables for L/R audio andcomposite video, user guide and a 90 day warranty card. The projector is bright enough to display an acceptable 30" diagonal image in roomswith the lights on and a 60" diagonal image with the lights off. When you turn off thelights the image looks great, not high resolution, but more than acceptable for kid friendlymovies and basic video games. I estimate the projector needs to be about 5 feet from awall to display a 30" diagonal wide-screen image and about 10 feet back to project a 60"diagonal wide screen image. The projector can run for hours and generates very little heat so you don't have to worryabout burning fingers or melting table tops. The LED PT100 reminds me of a flash lightthat can be turned on and off at random without worrying about burning out a costlylamp. The PT100 won't replace your television or large screen projector but your kids willenjoy impromptu movie and video game nights on the wall or ceiling of their choice.
