Simple. Does exactly what it says.

I know these generic no name products are sometimes a gamble, but every so often you find one that just works. No tweaking or messing around needed. It just plain does what it says. This is one of those products. It does a very specific task and it does it well.The first thing you notice when you take it out of the box is that it has a good heft to it. Not heavy, but not light either. The little two sheet user manual included isn't much more than the product write up here on Amazon, but you really don't need it. You plug it in and set the desired settings with the 3 buttons on the device and it just plain works. There is an on screen display in the bottom left corner for about 2 seconds when settings or inputs are changed, which is reassuring so you know that its doing its job. Also there are LEDs on the power supply and on the device itself which are always on.Conversion quality seems quite good. I don't have anything to compare it to but there are no obvious artifacts, jaggies, lines, static, or anything like that. Once the on screen display goes off, you don't notice it's on. Which is a good thing!My particular story and use for this box is that it has COMPLETELY BREATHED NEW LIFE INTO MY DYING HDTV. You see, the LCD TV in question happens to be a cheap one that has difficulty displaying certain resolutions. It needs to "warm up" sometimes for several hours before it can display any HD resolutions EXCEPT for 1080p. For some reason displaying 1080p works fine. The problem is that my Comcast HD box does everything BUT 1080p. The manufacturer of the TV wanted 100 dollars (plus 50 more for shipping) to replace it with a REFURB. Yeah so I can run into the same problem with the refurb TV? No thanks.With this converter box, I just have it in-line between my home audio receiver and the TV, and it converts everything to 1080p, saving me the costly repair costs of my current TV or costs of buying a new one. It truly is a TV saver.All you have to do is just plug it in and forget about it. Awesome product at a great price that just plain works.

I normally don't buy products that have zero reviews, especially on products that sound to good to be true, but this product was exactly what I needed so I got it. I am so glad I did, this is perfect! It does exactly what it says it does. It even puts out video when nothing is plugged into the input and has a display so that you can use the buttons to change the settings. I am using it to take a 1080p signal from my computer and downscale it to 720p to stream games to twitch tv. I also use it to upscale a gamecube to 720p, and it actually makes things look a little better. I haven't tested to see if it actually strips out hdcp like it says it does, but I am sure it will work, which is good because I will probably use it with the ps3. Its probably the coolest converter box I have ever seen. It also works great with the hdmi splitter that I purchased. Anyways, totally worth the money and really glad that I purchased it!
