This unit does not function very well so do not buy it until they make MAJOR improvements.While it switches two computers with HDMI pretty well (sometimes you must hit the button a couple of times to activate the mouse) it drops keystrokes at a rate of about four to five characters per sentence. I know I am not the best typist in the world but this thing just does not sense a keyboard well and if you type anything at all you will triple your effort trying to correct all the dropped keystrokes (there were ten errors in this sentence alone).I bought this on another web site and paid about the same but this thing is just a very expensive door stop. As soon as I can find the IOGear switch I will try that one as this is just too useless. The really idiotic thing is there is no way to upgrade the firmware so you are stuck with whatever you get out of the box.

Solid metal construction and simple operation.I had some trouble with duplicated or dropped characters using the dedicated USB keyboard port. I switched to one of the regular USB ports and it works fine.I connect my 24" display, mouse, keyboard, and two printers to this KVM so that I can share them between my personal desktop PC and my work laptop docking station in my home office.
