This is the adapter of the future -- Oh My Goodness -- WOW!

Well, for all the wireless fanboys (and fangirls) this is the one that we've been waiting for. This is a cutting edge 802.11n adapter, the perfect pair to the high speed router that you already have. With this installed, and configured properly,expect 110 MBps or more of speed. This makes it perfect for all the movie streaming that your heart can desire, Netflix, Amazon VOD you name it; Click you are there! The instructions are clear, you will need to hook this up to your computer first to make your way through the wizard, unless you have another piece of trendnet gear lying about. If not, as I do not, no worries. Works flawlessly well with the linksys (which I have), belkins etc. of the world too. If you want to take advantage of the 802.11n compliant/producing hardware you already have, then this is the one for you. Aesthetically, small elegant footprint. Glowing blue lights when it is on. Easily tucked away in a nook to run without flaw or maintenance, basically the set and forget of the adapter world. What's not to love? I looked at all the reviews for the adapter that came out during the CES 2011 show, and this one according to all the independent tests appears to be a keeper. Helped me make my decision, and I am glad that I bit the bullet.

Not recommended for PS3 owners/ Does not operate on 5Ghz band

This device has great potential for what it is intended for. With that said I don't recommend this to owners of PS3s owners or any other consoles for that matter that are looking to upgrade their wireless signal to 802.11n instead of 802.11b/g. The adapter managed to boost my download speed by 4mb/s which is decent but the lag in games like the Call of Duty series (which by experience has the most lag out of most games made) doesn't get much better. If you really want to get a better connection other then connecting an ethernet cable then I recommend getting one that is dual band and can connect to the 5Ghz band. This adapter may be wireless N but it still uses the much used 2.4Ghz band. Other than that I really had no problems with the device at all. Works perfectly fine if you're just looking to turn an internet enabled device to wireless.

To start let me say I am no IT tech. I get frustrated very often while trying to do things like setting up my network (simply my pc to router connection). TRENDnet made the set up for the TEW-687GA 450mgps Gaming Adapter easy and simple. The instructions got ify right around the part where I had to 'sign in' to the unit itself, but I got through it.(you will see when you get yours, but don't sweat it. If a can do it you can do it. ;p) The Adapter works like a charm. My router has been put in the hotseat now because it is now the 'choke point'. But never fear, TRENDnet makes routers for gamers too! OH! Let me also say that before I got the TRENDnet Adapter my other wireless N adapter 'fell off-line' every 20 minutes or so. Since TRENDnet launch....0(Zero) service interuptions. That should sell the hell out of this baby. I am 1 story up and two walls away from my router, so the signal goes through 1 floor (hardwood no carpet) and two walls to get to the TRENDnet Adapter. Again 0(Zero) service Interuptions.P.S. I realize there are probably a large amount of mispellings. I'm sorry about that.wolfrider66(XBOX360)/squibjb66(Steam) signing off
