Easy Networking for Anyone!

I've been a network admin for 20+ years, and home and small busienss owners have always wanted a cheep, fast way to add a PC or printer without the cost of cabling or the headaches of wireless; Well it's here! I don't write reviews about products because they all have problems, or are hard to setup; so I bought a couple of these, just to test and see where this type of tech was going. Ok, I'm sold! and you should be too! Plug it into the wall, connect a network patch cable (cat5 - cat6)into the device, plug the other end into your PC, or latop or HDTV, or whatever, and in about a 60-90 seconds your connected! My statements are based on the DHCP type of network which is the default for just about everything these days. Home owners, put that PC ANYWHERE you want! I've tested other brands as well, and they do work ok; but the Eplug 200 has got to be the fast and easy KING!

I've spent years trying to get the internet into the back room of my house. I've tried "boosters" so my computer could read a wireless connection; though I could get a connection, it was barely a flicker. We were ready to get Verizon to wire the back part of the house for internet. I just didn't want to go thru the hassle. I saw this product and figured "why not??" Well, it took less than 5 minutes to hook everything up, with the hardest issue being finding a free wall outlet. It WORKS!! It REALLY WORKS!! I read that the 85 didn't stream video very well, so I got the 200 and it streams video just fine. The main thing is you need to make sure the video is fully loaded before you run it. I'm so excited about this product that the first thing I did was to sit down and write this review. I totally recommend it. My only complaint is that now the product is cheaper than when I got it a couple of weeks ago!!

Ignores Mac Users

Beware of this product if you are a Mac user like me. The software required to support these devices will only run on Windows. If the ePlugs stop working, as mine have done, there is no way to reset them unless one has access to a PC.In the absence of a PC, I have tried inter-changing them; pressing the reset buttons; and activating the buttons for connecting an additional ePlug to the network. Nothing works. Why a supposedly high-tech Company like Guillemot Corporation should treat Mac users with such disdain is disconcerting.
